School of Broadcasting & Communication, Mumbai is a part of the ‘Society for Arts & Mass Communication’, a non-profit, non-governmental organization (NGO) registered under ‘Registrar of Firms and Societies Act, 1973’, of the government of the state of Madhya Pradesh, India. As a Media Institution, SBC has strived to engage in initiatives which will help in engaging several sections of the society and uplift them. The Institution is affiliated to the prestigious Makhanlal Chaturvedi National University of Journalism and Mass Communication, Asia’s only journalism university, established at the behest of India’s former Prime Minister, Rajiv Gandhi.
We, as a learning platform believe that each and every growing individual should contribute his time and effort to Social Work and shall be a helping hand to the unprivileged and the neglected section of the Society. SBC constantly motivates its students and other associates to take part in Social Development drives. This Scholarship will be awarded to students who are actively involved in Social Work related activities and has the endeavour to take it forward firmly.

To receive this scholarship is honor. I worked hard and always wanted to do my bit for the society, social service is a term for people, its a routine for me. I didn’t know that could some day give me scholarship in return. It’s like when we were kids we were told that you do your part and wait for the best to happen that’s what I felt when I got to know that I received 50% scholarship.

I would like to express my gratitude for the financial support through the 2020-2021 (Bhaiyyuji Maharaj Scholarship). I grew up in a home with generous and loving parents, but as I got older, I realised not everyone was as fortunate to have such an experience. Helping people is something that has always intrigued me. Hence I started this journey. It's an honour to receive 25% scholarship for social work.
