Chaturvedi Rastriya Patrakarita Vishwa-Vidyalaya (MCRPV)
had organized a two day symposium at the School Of
Broadcasting and Communication (SBC) on "Hindi
Journalism in Independent India".
On the first day of the event Mr. Vishwanath Sachdev,
former editor Navbharat Times, commented that today's
hindi journalism is becoming insensitive day by day. Mr.
Nandkishore Nauriyal said that newspapers are losing
public support and media's public image is darkening.

Mrs. Puspha Bharti, senior journalist
and writer, said that discrepancies in language need to
be removed. Mr. Kumar Prashant added that the
relationship between literature and journalism is broken
and needs to be bridged. Senior journalist Lalji Misra
expressed his concern towards the post of Editors and
their standing today. Senior journalist, Mr. Neelkanth
Pathak said that we can't be opinion less and need to
give ideas to the next generation. Mr. Manhar Chauhan
commented on the role of small magazines while Ashwini
Kumar Misra dicussed about the role of small newspapers
and changing trends in journalism.
On the second day the discussion continued about the
language in newspapers with journalists of each
generation expressing anxiety on this issue. According
to senior journalist Vinod Tiwari, the combination of
newspapers and literate has enriched newspapers. Most of
them were in the belief that film journalism has been
reduced to mere gossip.
Mr. Acchutanand Misra said that the opinions, expressed
by the editors and journalists over the two days, were
full of vibrant energy and direction. He further added
that the university has commissioned a research based on
the same. The event concluded with Mr. Tushir Chaudhary,
Managing Director SBC, expressing his gratitude to the
dignitaries present.
