those filmmakers, who always wished that all the motion
effects were possible in the camera itself, can now
celebrate. The latest camera in the market is Panasonic
AJ-HDC27 VariCam HD which can record at frame rates from
4 to 60 frames per second (Fps). It comes really handy
when you have to show a slow motion, you can capture the
scene in 60 Fps and then play at 30 or 24 Fps. The
outcome will be a smooth slow motion shot with excellent
detailing. Where as, whenever you want to show a real
speedy motion, you can shoot at a rate of, say, 10 Fps
or less. Then the captured footage can be played at
normal 30 or 24 Fps and we will get super fast motion.
We can also change the frame rate anytime in
between the shooting process, so various funky kinds of
effects are also possible like ghost or light trail type
effects. It has some other new and really helpful
features that
reduce a good amount of work for the
editors. One of such features is good detail control
even in dim light. The biggest problem that filmmakers
have been facing is shooting a hand in lamplight or
similar dim light source. This camera captures with
extremely fine and crisp details even in dim light or
unidirectional light. Another important feature is that
it removes rudimentary frames by itself when you change
the frame rate. Till date editors had to manually remove
frames from the footage when they had to change the
frame rate. All over, this camera is a sensible option
for small scale and documentary film makers. It will
sure evolve as winner in the market. |
