Yet another
simple but nifty ad has been envisaged by the very
obvious O&M with the use of the very conventional baby.
The ad is absolutely simplistic but uncustomary in its
execution. The facial expression of the baby is simply
"fantabulous". Especially the expression transformation
that the baby's face goes through when the father tries
to click the baby's picture with his cell phone is
simply pertinent.
Another fine characteristic of this ad is that it has
absolutely no audio in the background, which is normal
treatment to any other commercials. The actions
portrayed by a kid and adult; is again an irony pinched
over the immaturity of adults who clicks photographs
without permission. This again gives the ad the whole
'stick-out' feature to it.
The message delivered for public interest is very
direct, that too only through actions of little kid. In
the end when the message "Bina Izazat, Photo Na
Kheechein" gives perfect punch. Beautifully executed and
well conceptualized, this ad definitely scores high
among the recent commercials.

The recent
SPRITE Ad with Sania Mirza is simply strange. For
instance, Sania Mirza was an absolute waste in the ad.
Secondly, their latest caption, "SPRITE Karey No
Chamatkar, Bas Pyaas Bhujaye Yaar", sounds silly as it
is a self defeating change and needless. Their previous
ad campaigns that came up with punch lines like "Dikhawe
Pe Math Jao ..Apni Akal Lagao", was apt to the notion
followed by the product.
Another observation made is that the commercial is a
sheer copy of an international work that featured an NBA
star, drinking SPRITE and trying to slam dunk but
falling way short and crashing to the floor. But here
the tag line said it beautifully, "If you want to slam
dunk, practice. If you want to obey your thirst, drink
SPRITE".
The concept seems to be futile. The commercial tried its
best to squeeze humor out of the guy's stupidity, but
instead the whole ad came out as immature. The ad has to
focus on some feature of the product. The product's USP
should not be compromised. Well this commercial has
miserably failed to do so. Hence, overall the ad is
simply 'Bakwaas'. |
