S.B.C. rocked at ACT'06 |

When we first got a hold of
the registration form of "Act 2006" inter college
festival of D.Y Patil College Of Law, Nerul in our
hands, our minds were full of doubts and anxiousness as
to what will happen there, whether we will be able to
reach out to the thousands of students of D.Y. Patil?
But, our hearts were filled with confidence and
eagerness to prove our potential.
Team SBC was formed by ten students who were Shrutika,
Poonam, Amita, Vinit, Mihir, Ritesh, Abhishek, Jigar,
Akshay and Vinita. In spite of a small group of ten
people we managed to participate in thirteen events in a
span of three days. All the credit goes to all our team
members and everybody had one goal "taking S.B.C to new
heights".
We were caught short in participation on day 1. On 7th
Feb we had Solo singing competition wherein Abhishek and
Shrutika performed splendidly. Duet singing was again
performed by both of them. Besides this Vinit, Poonam,
Mihir and Ritesh participated in Treasure Hunt, Akshay
and Ritesh in the Quiz and Vinita in the Mehendi
competition. Unfortunately we could only draw top honors
in the Mehendi competition on the first day. |

Best College Award at
Dr. D.Y. Patil College Act Fest 2006 |

8th Feb was the day when S.B.C rocked the crowd of D.Y.
Patil with Shrutika and Abhishek winning 1st prize in
Script Writing Competition. Amita, Shrutika and Vinita
bagged 2nd prize in Group Discussion. Vinit, Mihir,
Ritesh, Poonam, Amita and Vinita bagged 2nd prize in
Ad-Mad Show. In performing arts Vinita won the 1st prize
award for Solo Dance performance.
On 9th Feb a cross section of students started
approaching us, inquiring about our college, commended
our team spirit besides giving compliments that would
suffice a lifetime. The winning steak continued that day
when we won the 1st prize in Poster art or Ad-Designing
competition courtesy the duo of Vinit and Ritesh and
Shrutika's 2nd prize for Tattoo making. These were
followed the 1st prize for Hair Styling competition
bagged by Vinita, who also won 2nd prize in Elocution.
The closing ceremony was announced by the Principal,
D.Y. Patil Law Collegeat the end of the day.
Unfortunately only Vinita was present there at the event
with her family. The rest of the gang had already left
for home as everybody was unaware of the prize
distribution. It came no surprise for Vinita to go on
stage to get her 1st prize trophy in Dance but the shock
came when it was announced "the Best College Award goes
to School Of Broadcasting and Communication".
She was asked to speak a few words when she received the
Award and on behalf of the group she said "We had come
to D.Y Patil to prove that we all have great potential
and that our college rocks and we did it!" The Applause
didn't seize till the host finally continued with his
next announcement. Many people came forward to
congratulate on winning the Trophy, the most prestigious
at the event. It is said that "Hard work pay's off".
Indeed our hard work of three days did pay off; when we
look at the trophy we won for our college holding in our
hands. |
